HOORAY FOR TURKEY DAY

Gobble gobble ya'll! It's the most delicious time of the year. What goes together better than a turkey dinner and a comfy sweater? Since us Americans consume way more food than we should on Thanksgiving, keeping it comfy when it comes to clothing is never a bad option. Leggings + big comfy sweater + your favorite pair of boots = the perfect fall outfit.

But never forget to be thankful on a holiday like this. This year I'm thankful for family, friends and of course fashion. And I'm also thankful for being able to attend the best university in the world aka BAYLOR. Have a wonderful holiday everyone!

FAST FORWARD INTO FALL

As it may be hard to believe, yes, I am actually back on my blogging game. Sorry for the delay but college is no joke. Now that it's shifting into the fall season, that calls for fall wardrobe. Recently, I've been a little obsessed with camo. There's just something about the edginess.

Layers are always important with the new season. It's all about finding a balance. A girl can never go wrong with a denim shirt in my opinion. It's the perfect option for a cardigan. Combat boots are also a must-have in my opinion. If the black is too edgy for your liking, try a brown pair or gray.

Recently I've found myself shopping at Windsor, Lulu's, and Cotton on. Check out their style online!

RELEASE YOUR INNER BADASS

This post goes out to doing what you want and wearing what you want. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people are too scared to try out new fashion choices or say "I wish I could pull something like that off." The truth of the matter is, you can pull off anything as long as you wear it with a confident attitude. Now I'm not saying go out and wear something like what Miley wore during her VMA performance (Can I get a wtf for that one?). But do take fashion risks. I've learned to not even ask for opinions on my outfit because guess what, if I like it, I'm going to wear it regardless. Lately I've been obsessing over the more edgy side of fashion with high-waisted shorts and awesome high-top shoes. On a side note, now that classes are back in session here at Baylor, I'm going to do my best to post when I can. Hope you all have a badass year and rock what you wear!

GO BOLD OR GO HOME

Who doesn't love being tan and wearing neons? If you don't, you're clearly not a Texas gal like myself. Summer has been treating me great so far. I'm soaking up as much vitamin D as I can (when I'm not working or doing homework). My countdown has officially begun: 11 days until Destin, FL and I can't wait!

If you're looking for a look like the one I'm wearing here, it's quite simple. Find your favorite neon top and pair it with toned-down bottoms. (Blacks, navys, greys) Prints or stripes are also very complementary, especially if your top is solid, like mine. Pick your favorite pair of sandals or wedges if you're brave and you're all set.

SWAG OF SUMMER

Pleather. Tank. Heels. Who says you can't mix and match? I'm breaking all the rules this summer. Props to Jourdain Nicot, the lovely photographer who took these amazing photos (minus the ones from my iPhone). Checkout her website here! Or her Facebook.

              Stay fabulous everyone.

IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN DALLAS

As the temperature has begun to skyrocket, I can officially say summer is in session. Time to break out the bikinis and bronzer (but don't neglect sunscreen people!) It excites me to announce to ya'll that I have started my summer internship with Abi Ferrin, a local Dallas fashion designer. If you haven't heard of her or haven't seen her awesome clothing line, CHECK HER OUT HERE. It's been such a blessing to have been offered this wonderful opportunity, and I'm loving every minute of it. Be watching for an upcoming post all about Abi Ferrin clothing.

This summer is all about taking risks with your outfits. Wear something you don't think you could pull of. Take risks with your selections. And most importantly, don't give a damn about what other people think! Be wild, be crazy, be fun, but be YOU.

Finals are ending and everyone knows what that means...SUMMERTIME. Summer fashion is one of my favorites because of the insane(in a good way) patterns and colors you can pair together. For this summer, there are a few essentials every gal needs.
First off, high-waisted shorts are a MUST HAVE. No matter your size, shape or height, they compliment every girl in the right ways. Don't want to spend a pretty penny on a pair? No problem. Good Will or any thrift store is stocked with vintage Levi's and Wrangler's ready to be made into shorts. Grab yourself a pair and head over to YouTube for a quick DIY and you'll be set.

Secondly, maxi skirts and dresses are hot right now. With the Texas heat on its way, these dresses/skirts provide you with the perfect flow. Pair them with the perfect sandal or wedge and you're ready to take on the sun.

As you can see from above, I'm a little obsessed with Kendra Scott currently. She just came out with her new "Island Escape" collection for the summer and let's just say it's pretty perfect. If only I wasn't limited to a college kid's budget :(

To end this on a positive note, good luck to everyone cramming for finals, and for those who aren't, consider yourself lucky! Happy studying and stay trendy!

CURRENT OBSESSION: STACKED WRIST

The trend is known as "stacked wrist" and it is exactly what it sounds like. All you have to do is stack up your wrist with your favorite bracelet/watch accessory combo. The secret is to pick ones that compliment each other. I suggest wearing a watch because it completes the look. This look is fun to create, but don't get too crazy by stacking bracelets up to your elbow (not a good look). Below are some links to bracelets/watches that I think would perfectly achieve this look. Have fun and go wild with it!

TRIBAL VIBE

Lately when I've been out shopping all I see is tribal, tribal, and more tribal. So why not embrace this new trend? The colors and prints are so fun, and they are so simple to match. This tribal cardigan I picked up at a local Waco boutique has become one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe...and that's saying a lot. Is it possible to have too much tribal-ness going on? Possibly. But I think my cardigan and fringe boots aren't going too overboard. I wore this outfit to a hockey game, so it was pretty casual. Trends come and go, but I think this one will stay (at least until the end of summer).
